As someone whose knowledge of military weapons is more in the obsolete ones, a chance to read up on what the modern US Army uses was really neat. Though, it is amusing to see the good old 50 caliber Ma Deuce here. I didn't know how badly the M4 carbine did in a test with other modern carbines, for example. Or the Bradleys killed more Iraqi tanks than the Abrams. There are tons of links to articles and to YouTube videos about the weapon, so you can get the full experience.2,053 locations in length. I love all the individual drawings
There are tanks, helicopters, carrs, guns and even more. This is a awesome book!
This book was recommended as a good guide for old soldiers to find out what the U.S. Army is currently using on the battlefield. I would also recommend it to non military readers who would like to know more about ongoing Army operations. My son is in the army, so I am interested in any reading that will give me a better understanding and insight into his world.
Very good and inexpensive guide to non-OPSEC-sensitive US Army weaponry in use on the 2012 battlefield. Roughly what one used to pick up at AUSA annual conventions but with links to online videos and books. Divided into sections on individual weapons; anti-armor weapons, indirect fire systems, tracked vehicles, wheeled vehicles, air defense weapons, aircraft (helicopters), and unmaned aerial vehicles currently used by the Army. One does not, of course, find Marine, Navy and Air Force weapons that support the Army in the joint forces team. However, it is an outstanding reference for an old soldier who wants to see what the Army uses today.
